Get in your daily water quota with this Fruit-Infused Water – 6 ways! From berries, to citrus, to cucumber and herbs, we’ve got you covered for refreshing drink recipes all summer long!

We worked pretty much from 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM everyday. That is probably an insane workday for the average person but when you love what you do like we do, it doesn’t feel like work! The week flew by and I still feel like we need at least 3 more weeks in the same room together. Long distance besties S-U-C-K-S.

Besides being slightly obsessed with our jobs, another thing Lee and I have in common is our love of coffee. For two health and wellness bloggers, we consume a tad too much coffee. And when you combine that for our dislike of non-caffeinated hydration, it makes for an ugly combo.

We both know we need to up our water consumption, but in true food blogger fashion we just had to make it more interesting than basic filtered water. Our solution = Fruit-Infused Water – 6 ways!

Not only were we drinking water like fiends, but we also got in our fruits and veggies because let’s be real, how can you not eat the leftover fruit on the bottom?!

The second we made our first batch we just knew we had to share these with you. They are refreshing, tasty and perfect for summer. They also did the impossible and made us excited to drink water! Not to mention how obsessed with our with these photos!

We’re so excited for you to try out these varieties and let us know your favorite!

Breakfast Energy Smoothie

It is officially summer and my Raspberry Lemonade Recipe is the perfect way to beat the heat.

This recipe came about last week when I had a container of raspberries starting to get a little on the mushy side. I also had a huge bag of lemons, so it seemed natural to combine them to create a sweet, tart, ice cold drink. The results were delish!

I make fresh lemonade a lot during the summer months; it’s so easy and in my opinion tastes much better than the powdered variety. When I was a kid, there was a family owned lemonade stand that would make appearances at the local festivals. Their lemonade was amazing because it had that perfect balance of sweet and tart. I tried to replicate that balance in this recipe and hope you get that smooth sweet flavor with a little pucker.

RASPBERRY LEMONADE
YIELD: 6 servings PREP TIME: 5 minutes

  • 1 cup sugar

  • ¾ cup raspberries; pureed and pushed through a fine mesh sieve; plus more whole berries for garnish if desired

This smoothie only has 200 calories!

Healthy Green Smoothie

Hi guys, rather quick post since it’s been a wonderful long weekend here in Southern Ontario. The weather has been glorious and we’ve been busy outside in the garden. Who wants to be inside when the weather is great outdoors! We’ve setup our gazebo, went for a bike ride and just relaxed in the sun.
Today’s breakfast was a very quick and easy mango strawberry smoothie. To me smoothies should be simple, just fresh fruits and maybe a little almond milk. This one was delicious! And of course a smoothie should be topped with fresh fruit!
This is enough fruit for one generously sized smoothie. We shared it with two straws lol.

With our Cabo getaway just one week away, I’ve been trying very hard to cut down on the heavy snacks and indulging in super easy smoothies. I’ve made at least 10 different smoothie variations in the last 2 weeks but this raspberry mango smoothie has to be my absolute favorite. Plus, it’s so fun to look at!

And the best part about this smoothie is that you only need 4 ingredients – raspberries, mango, milk and orange juice. That’s it!

Now the raspberry portion doesn’t have a sweetener, but once you swirl in that sweet mango goodness, the balance of sweetness is absolute perfection. It’s not overly sweet but just enough to get your morning going.

And if you’re not into smoothies for breakfast, these go perfectly as a post-workout drink or midnight snack. Midnight smoothies sound a bit unconventional but at least you’re cutting down on those midnight brownies and cookies. Or is that just me?
